PRESENTS ANALYSIS OF THE RESULTS OF AN INVESTIGATION BY THE NYSIIS PAROLE AND PROBATION STUDY TEAM.
Abstract
SECTION II IS AN ANALYSIS OF THE BASIC INFORMATION NEEDS OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES WITH EMPHASIS ON THE NEEDS OF PAROLE AND PROBATION AGENCIES. SECTION III PROVIDES BACKGROUND ON PAROLE AND PROBATION IN NEW YORK STATE, AND ANALYZES THESE OPERATIONS THROUGH AN EXAMINATION OF THEIR MAJOR FUNCTIONAL AREAS. SECTION IV DESCRIBES THE TYPE FREQUENCY OF NYSIIS ASSISTANCE TO THE SYSTEM AGENCIES. SECTION V DISCUSSES THE DATA ELEMENT REQUIREMENTS OF THE NYSIIS REPORTING SYSTEM. SECTION VI DESCRIBES THE REVISIONS TO THE NYSIIS PROCESS SYSTEM NECESSITATED BY SURVEY RESULTS AND RECENT LEGISLATIVE ACTION. SECTION VII PROVIDES FOR AN INITIAL DESCRIPTION OF THE PLANNED NYSIIS STATISTICAL SYSTEM.
