This document contains proposals and contributions received from Governments as addenda to Consideration of the Additional International Legal Instrument Against Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children.
Abstract
Contributions were submitted by Cameroon, China, Colombia, the Holy See, Italy, the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Mexico, Morocco, the Netherlands, the Philippines, the Syrian Arab Republic, Thailand, and the United States of America. Proposals concerned numerous articles in the Consideration, including: Entry into force; Assistance for and protection of victims of trafficking in persons; Status of the victim in the receiving State; Seizure and confiscation of gains; Repatriation of victims of trafficking in persons; Obligation to criminalize; Law enforcement measures; Border measures; Cooperation with non-States parties; Use of terms; and Prevention of trafficking in persons. The proposals included suggested changes in wording, addition of new articles, replacement of paragraphs, addition of paragraphs, changes in definitions of terms, deletion of articles, cooperation with non-States parties, and use of terms.
