Abstract
PSYCHIATRY HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN THE LEGAL SYSTEM ONLY TO FILL A ROLE DELINEATED AND DEFINED BY THE SYSTEM, RATHER THAN BY PSYCHIATRY. THE AUTHOR FEELS PSYCHIATRY SHOULD ENTER THE FIELD IN THE AREAS OF LEGISLATION, LAW ENFORCEMENT, TRIALS, SENTENCING, AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SENTENCES.
