Abstract
BEGINNING WITH A REVIEW OF THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DEFINITION AND DIAGNOSIS OF PSYCHOPATHY FOR RESEARCH AND CLINICAL PURPOSES, AND THE HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE CONCEPT OF PSYCHOPATHY, THE BOOK GOES ON TO DEAL WITH GENETIC DETERMINANTS OF PSYCHOPATHIC AND CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR, THE ETIOLOGICAL IMPLICATIONS OF CHILDHOOD HISTORIES OF PSYCHOPATHS, AND THE RELATION BETWEEN PERSISTENT CRIMINALITY AND PSYCHOPATHY. AN OVERVIEW IS ALSO PROVIDED OF THE APPROACHES TO THE TREATMENT OF BOTH ADOLESCENT AND ADULT PSYCHOPATHS.
