A Senate committee examines Federal public housing policies, with attention to the General Services Administration's (GSA's) view of how the Federal Government has carried out its public buildings program and the GSA's new approach to public buildings.
Abstract
The GSA Administrator describes changes made at GSA, notes Federal space needs, and suggests measures GSA and Congress can take to improve the public buildings program. Others testifying on these and other issues include representatives of the Public Building Service, the Department of Transportation, Veterans' Administration, and Senators and Representatives. A prepared statement by the Executive Director of the National League of Cities is included. The GSA Administrator notes that the agency has done a poor job of constructing buildings in the past and that reorganization efforts are underway. Recent GSA scandals are also mentioned. Tables and charts are included in the prepared statements.
