GOALS, OBJECTIVES, PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT, PRESENTED IN THE CONTEXT OF THE OVERALL SOCIO-ECONOMIC PROBLEMS AND PROGRESS OF PUERTO RICO.
Abstract
POLICE PROGRAMS AIMED AT PREVENTING AND CONTROLLING CRIME FOR THE PROTECTION OF LIFE AND PROPERTY OF THE COMMUNITY CONSTITUTE A MAJOR PART OF THE PLAN. SPECIFIC PROJECTS WHICH IMPLEMENT THESE PROGRAMS ARE DESCRIBED. VERY HIGH PRIORITY IS GIVEN TO DEVELOPING THE POLICE MANPOWER RESOURCES, AND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES, NEEDED TO COMBAT THE RISING CRIME PROBLEMS OF THE INCREASINGLY URBAN AND INDUSTRIAL PUERTO RICAN SOCIETY. THE PLAN CONTAINS INFORMATION, STATISTICS, AND INDICATORS OF THE GENERAL CRIME DEVELOPMENT, AND DESCRIBES A NUMBER OF RESEARCH AND INFORMATION PROJECTS RELATED TO ACHIEVEMENT OF THE GOALS SET FORTH.
