FOLLOWING A DISCUSSION OF DIFFERENCES IN PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT OF BONDSMEN'S OFFICES AND DIFFERENCES IN CHARACTER AND CONDUCT EXHIBITED BY THE BONDSMEN, THE AUTHOR COMMENTS ON HOW MANY BONDSMEN GET INTO BUSINESS. THE ARTICLE THEN FOCUSES ON TOPICS SUCH AS STATE AND LOCAL REGULATION OF BONDSMEN, SOURCES AND SELECTION OF CLIENTELE, SUPERVISION OF CLIENTELE, DEALING WITH FORFEITURES, AND COLLUSION AND OTHER FORMS OF MISBEHAVIOR.
