This summary of what is new, critical, and Marxist in radical criminology also reviews the paradigmatic value of radical criminology.

Abstract

In the first part of the text, contributions of radical criminologists are placed in a diachronic and synchronic structure of criminological theory. The antithetic critical nature of so-called critical criminology is cited, touching the question of whether the concept of Marxist criminology is feasible. In the second part, the evolution of radical criminology in different social and cultural environments is presented. 81 references
