A METHOD OF DETECTION BY MONITORING ACOUSTIC OR VIBRATION SIGNALS INTRODUCED INTO THE RAIL.
Abstract
FIELD EXPERIMENTS WERE CONDUCTED WITH ELECTROMECHANICAL INSTRUMENTATION CAPABLE OF DETECTING SEISMIC AND ACOUSTIC WAVES, TO DETERMINE WHICH RANGE OF WAVES IN THE RAIL POSSESSED THE BEST TRANSMISSION QUALITIES. DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS FOR A PROTOTYPE SYSTEM ARE RECOMMENDED.
