A GUIDE FOR MILITARY INVESTIGATORS DEALING WITH RAPE CASES.
Abstract
MOST RAPE CASES ARE SAID TO FALL INTO THE CATEGORIES OF 'BLITZ RAPES' - WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING OR PRIOR INTERACTION BETWEEN THE SUBJECT AND VICTIM - OR 'CONFIDENCE RAPES' - IN WHICH AN ACQUAINTANCESHIP, HOWEVER BRIEF IS FIRST ESTABLISHED AND THE VICTIM IS LURED INTO THE SITUATION. SEVERAL 'TYPICAL' RAPISTS ARE DESCRIBED AND THEIR MOTIVATIONS CHARACTERIZED. PROPER INVESTIGATIVE TECHNIQUES, ESPECIALLY AS REGARDS TREATMENT OF THE VICTIM, ARE OUTLINED.
