Abstract
THE PSYCHOLOGICAL RESPONSES OF RAPE VICTIMS ARE DESCRIBED IN RELATION TO THE FOUR GENERALLY DEFINED STAGES OF STRESS REACTIONS: THE ANTICIPATORY OR THREAT PHASE, AND THE POST-TRAUMATIC RECONSTITUTION PHASE. SPECIFIC ISSUES RELATED TO AGE AND LIFE STAGE ARE ALSO CONSIDERED.
