THIS REPORT WAS PREPARED TO ASSIST THE TAFT, CALIFORNIA, POLICE DEPARTMENT IN DETERMINING WHAT COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT TO PURCHASE AND IN REVIEWING PREVIOUSLY PREPARED SPECIFICATIONS FOR THAT EQUIPMENT.
Abstract
THE REPORT RECOMMENDS THAT TAFT PROCEED WITH ITS COMMUNICATION UPGRADE PROGRAM. TAFT SHOULD ADOPT REVISED SPECIFICATIONS, PREPARE NEW CALIFORNIA PUBLIC SAFETY RADIO ASSOCIATION (CPRA) FREQUENCY COORDINATION REQUESTS AND SEND THEM TO THE CPRA FREQUENCY COORDINATOR, SEEK COUNTY ASSISTANCE ON FINAL SYSTEM ACCEPTANCE TESTS, AND PROCEED WITH THE LONG-TERM PLAN TO INSTALL REMOTE SITE EQUIPMENT AT THE WATER TREATMENT PLANT. APPENDIXES CONTAIN CONSULTANT SELECTION INFORMATION, TAFT'S OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING/LEAA GRANT AWARD, PROJECT PROBLEMS INFORMATION, RECOMMENDED CPRA COORDINATION FORMS, AND RECOMMENDED AND REVISED SPECIFICATIONS.
