Trial reform is discussed.
Abstract
This book contains a discussion of the major concepts and issues involved in the American trial system including the traditional justifications for the adversary system, the criticisms of the American trial including the questionable viability of the lay jury in many kinds of cases, and the role of the attorney in the courtroom search for truth and justice. The author explores domestic and foreign alternatives to adversarial trial court dispute resolution. He concludes by offering a comprehensive detailed blueprint for reform to meet what he has determined to be the inevitable needs of the trial system in years to come. Notes, bibliography, index
