Abstract
Leonard Zeskind, president of the Kansas City, Missouri-based Institute for Research & Education on Human Rights, has been an anti-racist and a leading analyst of white supremacist movements for more than 20 years. This interview presents Zeskind's views on the state of the far right in America, its relationship to more mainstream politics and institutions, and the development of white nationalism. Zeskind claims that ethnically based nationalism moving into the American mainstream is a broad movement. Unless America comes forward with an enlarged, multiracial internationalism as an alternative, the country is heading down the road to conflict. An article on extremist literature presents an alphabetical list of the most influential publications by and about the Patriot movement, with samples of their content.
