Abstract
The Crime Prevention Studies series is an international book series that focuses on the use of situational crime prevention (SCP)techniques and other initiatives to reduce opportunities for crime. The topics in this volume center on the use of SCP techniques as an effective tool in reducing terrorism. The topics addressed include: spatio-temporal modeling of insurgency in Iraq; reducing terrorism opportunities: a framework for foreign policy; fundamentals of company-level counterinsurgency; EVIL DONE; bioterrorism: a situational crime prevention approach; application of situational crime prevention to terrorist hostage taking and kidnapping; preventing deadly encounters between law enforcement and American far-rightists; situational crime prevention and non-violent terrorism; and exploring parallels between situational crime prevention and non-criminological theories for reducing terrorist risk.
