Abstract
Information on funding sources is available on the Internet through the websites of National Criminal Justice Reference Service, the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center, the Office of Justice Programs, the Bureau of Justice Assistance, and other organizations. The website of the Environmental Protection Agency contains a useful guide for developing a grant proposal. The components of a proposal include the proposal summary, the agency introduction, the problem statement and needs assessment, the project objectives, the project methods of design, the project evaluation, future funding, the project budget, and appended reference information. Several options are available for justifying the need for specific items of technical equipment. The three government programs that can help law enforcement obtain specialized equipment.
