PROTEST SHOULD, AT LEAST PRELIMINARILY, GIVE WAY TO EDUCATION (PERHAPS IN THE FORM OF TEACH-INS) AS A MORE EFFECTIVE AGENT OF SOCIAL CHANGE.
Abstract
PROTEST, IF IT IS TO BE EFFECTIVE, SHOULD BE LIMITED TO AND RELATE TO SPECIFIC INCIDENTS, SUCH AS THE USE OF NAPALM BOMBS. THE AUTHOR POSITS THAT SOCIAL CHANGE FOR STABLE PEACE CAN ONLY COME THROUGH EDUCATION AND RESEARCH ALTHOUGH HE CONCEDES THAT A PROTEST MOVEMENT MAY BE NECESSARY TO CRYSTALLIZE THE POSITION OF THE UNITED STATES AS A LEADER IN THE WORLD MOVEMENT FOR STABLE PEACE.
