THIS REPORT OUTLINES THE DESIGN AND PROCEDURES BY WHICH THE IMPACT AND EFFECTIVENESS OF THE CONFERENCE WERE MEASURED AND DISCUSSES THE RESULTS OF THAT EVALUATION.
Abstract
A 26-ITEM ATTITUDINAL/INFORMATIONAL QUESTIONNAIRE COVERING KNOWLEDGE ABOUT AND ATTITUDES TOWARD THE TOPICS COVERED BY THE CONFERENCE WAS ADMINISTERED TO CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS BEFORE THE CONFERENCE, IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS, AND IN A TWO-MONTH FOLLOW-UP MAILING. THE POST-CONFERENCE AND FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONNAIRES ALSO CONTAINED A NUMBER OF ITEMS DESIGNED TO ASSESS THE RESPONDENTS PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REACTIONS TO THE CONFERENCE. BOTH THE POST-CONFERENCE AND LONG-RANGE REACTIONS WERE POSITIVE, ALTHOUGH MOST PERSONS INDICATED AN INTEREST IN MORE APPLIED INFORMATION, PARTICULARLY IN RELATION TO CRIME SPECIFIC PLANNING.
