Abstract
INCLUDED IS A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROTECTIVE SQUAD FOR SOCIAL DUTIES. IT IS NOT A SEPARATE UNIT OF THE SWEDISH POLICE SYSTEM AND AMONGST ITS DUTIES IS THE NOVEL IDEA OF 'MIXED PATROLS' CONSISTING OF PLAIN CLOTHES POLICE OFFICERS OF EITHER SEX AND INTERESTED SOCIAL WORKERS. THE INTENTION IS THAT THEY CAN MEET PERSONS IN THE STREET WHO MAY BE IN NEED OF REHABILITATION, CARE AND ATTENTION, OR MORAL ASSISTANCE. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
