This study finds an inverse relationship between juveniles' employment and the frequency of their criminal acts.
Abstract
This analysis of 120 youths with complete data files began with the calculation of Pearson correlation coefficients for four pairs of variables. The first coefficient correlates the average monthly number of police contacts with the average monthly number of jobs for which the youths applied but were rejected or which the youths were offered but rejected because of the nature of the employment.
