This article describes the development and accuracy of the innovative Remington 870 Modular Combat Shotgun (MCS), enhancing the effectiveness of military and police agencies.
Abstract
In 2005, Remington formed a Military and Law Enforcement Products Division to address the needs of military and law enforcement agencies with state-of-the-art solutions to enhance military and police effectiveness. In meeting these needs, Remington undertook a comprehensive planned effort on military and law enforcement firearms, ammunition and accessories. One such effort is the Modular Combat Shotgun (MCS). The MCS is based on the Remington 870 which has been a mainstay firearm for both the military and law enforcement for some 50 years. The MCS is essentially five shotguns in one. The MCS grew from the realization that current tactical shotguns were limited due to their configuration. The 870 MCS combines traditional 870 attributes with true modularity, a combination almost impossible to beat and unavailable elsewhere.
