Abstract
This report, prepared by the Association of Correctional Administrators, details the work of the Institutional Corrections Research Network (ICRN) for the years 2007 through 2009. The ICRN was established in 2007 with the aim of promoting "the development of a body of evidence-based knowledge about corrections and the application of that knowledge to corrections practice." This report summarized the work of the ICRN since its inception, and examines the issues and concerns of the network that were raised at the annual meetings held in 2007, 2008, and 2009. The major activities of the ICRN include the following: between 2007 and 2009, ICRN held six meetings with support from the ICRN cooperative agreement; informal polls were conducted of ICRN members in response to member questions to the group; research articles of national interest and relevance were shared with ICRN members on a formal basis in order to obtain their input and analysis; and additional research articles were shared with ICRN members on an informal basis. Additional information in this report includes resources available to ICRN through the ASCA Clearinghouse, significant issues raised at the annual meeting of ICRN, content analysis of the ICRN meetings, research that addresses the needs of corrections' practitioners, and examples of practitioner relevant research materials. The final section of the report presents results, recommendations, and actions undertaken by ICRN. Tables, figures, and appendixes
