CONSULTANTS' REPORT OF DEFICIENCIES AND PROBLEMS IN THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM AND SPECIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A COMPLETE SYSTEM REVISION.
Abstract
THE CONSULTANTS DETERMINED THAT NOTWITHSTANDING THE LACK OF A SERIOUS JUVENILE DELINQUENCY PROBLEM IN MONTANA, THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM IS ARCHAIC AND SORELY IN NEED OF COMPLETE REVISION. THEY SPECIFY 22 AREAS OF DEFICIENCY. IN RESPONSE TO THIS FINDING, THEY PRESENT A PROGRAM OF OVERHAUL WHICH WOULD EFFECTIVELY REVAMP THE ENTIRE SYSTEM. THEIR SPECIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS, AS WELL AS STATISTICAL DATA COLLECTED DURING THEIR STUDY ARE INCLUDED.
