This report describes Colorado's effort to portray the outcomes of programs funded by the Byrne Memorial Fund.
Abstract
In order for evaluation reports to have any effect, people must read them. This report describes how Colorado criminal justice officials put together an interesting, informative, and visually appealing record of their efforts. The U.S. Bureau of Justice Assistance/Colorado Division of Criminal Justice Point Page is a bulletin that describes efforts of the Byrne Program in Colorado. The bulletin uses anecdotes and other "user-friendly" techniques to document efforts to implement State drug and violent crime control strategy. The report discusses data presentation, the benefits of program evaluation and documentation, and the search for meaningful measures. It includes technical advice on such features as typefaces, typography, layout, elements of a page, and page layout. A chapter on document production discusses how to integrate graphics into the process, and the advantages of using high quality equipment. Notes, figures, bibliography, appendix
