This report describes the purpose of the National Institute for Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and the activities during fiscal year 1985 of the Research and Program Development Division (RPDD) and the Training, Dissemination, and Technical Assistance Division (TDTAD).
Abstract
RPDD conducts research in three major areas: (1) prevention of delinquent behavior and child exploitation, (2) improvement of the juvenile justice system, and (3) development of alternatives to the traditional juvenile justice system. The nature and findings of studies conducted in each of these areas are outlined. TDTAD conducted training workshops; established a National School Safety Center; provided technical assistance to various organizations; printed 14 publications; and handled 4,000 requests for information to the Juvenile Justice Clearinghouse.
