This publication constitutes the Office for Victims of Crime’s report for FY 2023 on the Crime Victims Fund Tribal Set-Aside Program.
This report provides information about the FY 2023 Crime Victims Fund Tribal Set-Aside Program. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has a long-standing commitment to improve services for victims of crime in American Indian and Alaska Native communities. Since Fiscal Year (FY) 2018, the Office for Victims of Crime’s (OVC) Tribal Division has administered the “Tribal Set-Aside” from the Crime Victims Fund (CVF) to fund the Tribal Victim Services Set-Aside Formula Grant Program (TVSSA Program). In January 2024, the Department consulted with Tribal leaders about the “Tribal Set-Aside” funding and other Tribal-specific grant programs. OVC presents this report to detail how Tribal Set-Aside funds were obligated in FY 2023. The report also covers the history of the OVC Tribal Set-Aside Program.
