Activities include court service improvements and program operations related to bankruptcy, legal research, defender services, equal employment opportunity, probation, and employment benefits for court judges. Appendixes to the annual report provide statistical data on cases processed by or pending in U.S. Courts as of September 30, 1988 and on payments made under the Criminal Justice Act for Fiscal Year 1987. 12 figures, 117 tables.
