METHODOLOGICAL PROBLEMS CONNECTED WITH THE EVALUATION OF DELINQUENCY PREVENTION PROGRAMS.
Abstract
SINCE PREVENTION PROGRAMS TEND TO BE SINGLE OR MULTI FACTOR, SEPARATE APPROACHES FOR EACH ARE CONSIDERED. AMBIGUITY IN THE DEFINITION OF SUCH TERMS AS PREVENTION AND YOUTH, THE CHOICE AND USE OF MEASURES, AND THE LOCALITY OF STUDY ARE ALL DISCUSSED. IMPLICITLY, IT IS ARGUED THAT THE RESEARCHER SHOULD PARTICIPATE IN A PROGRAM'S DESIGN IN ORDER TO ENSURE CONDITIONS WHICH WILL PERMIT EVALUATION.
