Abstract
TEN ARTICLES ARE PROVIDED ALONG WITH A SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY ON THE INVESTIGATION AND PROSECUTION OF FELONY CRIME AND A SECTION ON SOURCES OF ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE SUBJECT. ARTICLE TOPICS INCLUDE FUTURE TRENDS IN CRIME CONTROL, USE OF THE EXCLUSIONARY RULE, PREVENTIVE DETENTION, FEDERAL PROTECTION OF THE RIGHTS OF CRIMINAL SUSPECTS, AND A PROPOSAL TO LEGITIMIZE ARREST FOR PURPOSES OF INVESTIGATION. THE EFFECT OF POLICE EXPENDITURES ON CRIME RATES AND THE USE AND ABUSE OF CRIME STATISTICS ARE ALSO CONSIDERED.
