This resource guide is intended to increase the capacity of local citizen groups to provide alternative youth services and to advocate for change in juvenile institutions.
Abstract
The materials present general information on resource development and on such institutional funding sources as the Federal Government, foundations, and corporations. They include specific information to assist citizens in researching State funding sources and churches. Specific case studies discuss how two neighborhood organizations successfully raised money from business and industry in their neighborhoods. Specific information is given on how to raise money from individuals, and a guide is included to help small nonprofit organizations consider the feasibility of setting up and operating income-generating businesses. An annotated bibliography of 18 references includes additional resources. A fundraising handbook and a fact sheet on delinquency theories are also included. Sources for fundraising and resource assistance located nationwide are listed. Flow charts, organizational charts, budget data, and other illustrations are supplied.
