Abstract
The mission of the criminal justice network is the effective application of public resources to control crime in Michigan. Indications of system defects include unrecorded arrests, deficient disposition reporting, and poor fingerprinting practices. The network is described as a five-part structure comprised of law enforcement agencies, prosecuting attorneys, the court system, the corrections system, and Central Records Division. The input and output of the system is described, as well as characteristics of the component parts of the network. Glossary, bibliography, and contact information provided.
