This guide details available resources for research and technology transfer in all areas of the drug problem.
Abstract
The first section describes the grant-making process and depicts how funds flow from the Federal Government to recipients. The second section catalogs formula, discretionary, demonstration, and competitive Federal drug-related program grants, as well as key non-grant-funding programs; a brief description of each is provided. Information is included on funding from the Departments of Education, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Justice, Labor, Transportation, and Treasury; the Corporation for National Service; and the Office of National Drug Control Policy. The third section describes major private foundations that provide financial support to antidrug programs, as well as procedures for obtaining more information on approaching these foundations for funding. The guide provide points of contact for the criminal justice, law enforcement, and public health agencies for every State. Appended current information on Federal formula grant funding by State, a list of High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTAs) Directors, and a list of State contacts by function for the drug-related grant programs
