Abstract
THE IMPORTANCE OF PROPERLY LOCATING CASH REGISTERS AND EXIST IS REVIEWED. ALSO DISCUSSED ARE THE NEED FOR EFFICIENT INVENTORY CONTROL AND PROPER SECURITY IN FITTING ROOMS. SUGGESTIONS ARE OFFERED ON RECOGNIZING THE POTENTIAL THIEF, AND VARIOUS METHODS OF SHOPLIFTING ARE OUTLINED. ACTIONS THAT STAFF MAY UNDERTAKE TO PREVENT OR CONTROL SHOPLIFTING ARE ALSO REVIEWED. PROCEDURES FOR DEALING WITH CASES OF ROBBERY ARE DISCUSSED AS WELL.
