REPORT ON THE FIRST THREE MONTHS OF A PROJECT TO ASSESS THE PRESENT STATE OF KNOWLEDGE REGARDING THE IMPACT OF STREET LIGHTING ON CRIME AND THE FEAR OF CRIME.
Abstract
THE PURPOSE OF THE REPORT IS TO REVIEW MAJOR ISSUES IN STREET LIGHTING, ESPECIALLY THE IMPACT OF STREET LIGHTING ON CRIME. THE TASKS INVOLVED IN THIS PHASE OF THE EVALUATION INCLUDED REVIEWING PERTINENT BACKGROUND INFORMATION, DEVELOPING AN EVALUATION FRAMEWORK, DEVELOPING INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS, DETAILING SPECIFIC INTERVENTIONS, REFINING THE EVALUATION FRAMEWORK, ASSESSING THE PRESENT STATE OF KNOWLEDGE, AND CONSIDERING THE OBJECTIVES, MEASURES METHODOLOGY, AND TECHNOLOGY OF THE PHASE II EVALUATION.
