The rapid proliferation of research on men who batter creates both an opportunity and a dilemma for practitioners.
Abstract
As the quality and quantity of information available increases, the task of keeping up with and integrating the new knowledge becomes more and more difficult. In this review, the authors examine the research literature on characteristics of men who batter and interventions directed at helping men who batter to become nonabusive. We emphasize practice or policy implications from the research. Theoretical considerations are given attention where the research evidence warrants them. 2 tables and 122 references (Publisher abstract)
