Abstract
The Protocol supplements the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime. The purpose of the Protocol is to prevent and combat international trafficking in persons, paying particular attention to the protection of women and children ... and to promote and facilitate cooperation among States Parties to meet these objectives. The various articles of the Convention concern purposes; scope of application; definitions; obligation to criminalize; assistance for and protection of victims of trafficking in persons; status of the victim in the receiving State; seizure and confiscation of gains; repatriation of victims of trafficking in persons; law enforcement measures; border measures; international travel documents; prevention of trafficking in persons; cooperation with non-States Parties; savings clause; other provisions; settlement of disputes; signature, ratification, acceptance, approval, accession, and reservations; entry into force; amendment; denunciation; and languages and depositary.
