THE AUTHOR STATES THAT EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION AGAINST EX-PRISONERS PERPETUATES INSTITUTIONS AND PRACTICES THAT FORCE MANY MINORITIES AND POOR WHITES THROUGH THE CRIME-IMPRISONMENT-PAROLE-RECIDIVISM CYCLE.
Abstract
BOTH JUDICIAL AND LEGISLATIVE REMEDIES ARE SUGGESTED TO REMOVE THE BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT WHICH THE EX-PRISONER FACES. IT IS SUGGESTED THAT SUCH DISCRIMINATION VIOLATES THE RIGHT OF THE EX-OFFENDER TO EQUAL PROTECTION AND DUE PROCESS. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
