MODEL PLAN DESIGNED TO IMPROVE TRAINING PROGRAMS AND WORK-RELATED EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE STATE'S CORRECTIONAL PERSONNEL.
Abstract
THE MAJOR RECOMMENDATION IN THIS STUDY CALLS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A STATE CORRECTIONAL TRAINING CENTER. THE CENTER WOULD PROVIDE CONTINUOUS IN-SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR MANAGEMENT, SUPERVISORY, AND LINE PERSONNEL FROM CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND PROBATION AND PAROLE SERVICES. THE FACILITY WOULD ALSO OFFER COURSES LEADING TO A COLLEGE CERTIFICATE OR DEGREE THROUGH COOPERATIVE ARRANGEMENTS WITH LOCAL UNIVERSITIES.
