THIS REPORT, DATED AUGUST 1973, PRESENTS THE RESULTS OF A STUDY OF THE REMODELING AND EXPANSION OPTIONS FOR THE COMMUNICATIONS CENTER OF THE RICHLAND (WA) POLICE DEPARTMENT, WHICH HAS A POLICE STRENGTH OF 45 PERSONNEL.
Abstract
RICHLAND IS A COMMUNITY WITH A POPULATION OF ABOUT 26,000. WITH THE ADJACENT TOWNS OF PASCO AND KENNEWICK, RICHLAND IS A MEMBER OF THE SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON TRI-CITIES AREA. THIS TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE EFFORT WAS UNDERTAKEN AT THE REQUEST OF THE RICHLAND DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY. THE REPORT DESCRIBES THE EXISTING CONDITIONS IN THE RICHLAND POLICE COMMUNICATIONS CENTER AND OUTLINES THE DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS OF A NEW PROPOSED COMMUNICATIONS FACILITY. THE REPORT INCLUDES RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TECHNICAL IMPROVEMENTS IN EQUIPMENT AND CENTER LAYOUTS. AN IMPLEMENTATION PLAN IS ALSO PRESENTED WHICH PROVIDES A MODEL AND AN INITIAL ESTIMATE FOR FINAL PLANNING.
