TARGET PINS IS A PROPOSED DIVERSIONARY PROGRAM OF THE MONROE COUNTY FAMILY COURT WHICH SEEKS TO PROVIDE 24-HOUR INTENSIVE SERVICES TO JUVENILES IN ORDER TO TEST THE EFFECTIVENESS OF JUVENILE COURT DIVERSION.
Abstract
TARGET PINS IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TEST A SPECIFIC HIGH-INTENSITY DIVERSION ALTERNATIVE ON A RANDOMLY SELECTED, VOLUNTARY GROUP OF JUVENILES WHO APPEAR AT FAMILY COURT INTAKE IN PINS COMPLAINTS. THE FOCUS OF THE PROGRAM WILL BE TRUANCY PROBLEMS. TARGET PINS WILL EMPLOY THREE YOUTH CRISIS COUNSELOR/ADVOCATES AVAILABLE 24 HOURS PER DAY. THIS DOCUMENT OUTLINES THE MAJOR FEATURES OF THIS PROPOSED PROJECT INCLUDING THE PROJECT OBJECTIVES, THE ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE, PROGRAM COMPONENTS, AND THE STAFF RESOURCES. IN ADDITION, THE METHODS WHICH WILL BE USED TO EVALUATE THE PROPOSED PROGRAM ARE OUTLINED.
