Abstract
TEACHER ROLES INVOLVING PROGRAMMED INSTRUCTION IN THE CORRECTIONAL SETTING INCLUDE THOSE OF FRIEND, DOCTOR AND MANAGER. THE TEACHER CAN COUNSEL THE STUDENT, DIAGNOSE AND PRESCRIBE FOR THE STUDENT'S LEARNING DEFICIENCIES, AND PLAN AND ORGANIZE THE TOTAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR THE STUDENT. EMPHASIS IS PLACED ON IN-SERVICE TRAINING FOR EFFECTIVE COUNSELING AND EVALUATION OF STUDENT PERFORMANCE.
