The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force received 605 reports of crime in 1982, a 30-percent increase over the previous year.
Abstract
Information is given on personnel, including the number of inservice officers and those recruited during the year, comparative personnel statistics for 1978-82, and the allocation of personnel to various responsbilities. Activities of various operations and support services are reviewed under the following organizational units: Islands Division, Criminal Investigation Department, Special Branch, police tactical unit, marine police, traffic branch, force workshop, communications, local and special constables, and fire brigade. Under general administration, the data provided cover financial expenditures and revenue. The appendixes contain an analysis of traffic offenses and data on traffic accidents and their causes, a review of crime statistics by main categories, 1978-82, and data on the dispositions of crime reports and court cases.
