Abstract
IN ORDER TO TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THE MODERN CRUSHING CHARACTERISTICS OF MOTOR CARS THE VEHICLE OCCUPANT MUST IN SOME WAY BE ATTACHED TO THE CAR SO THAT HE DECELERATES WITH IT. VEHICLE OCCUPANTS STILL SEEM RELUCTANT TO WEAR SEAT BELTS DESPITE RESEARCHERS CLAIM THAT SEAT BELTS CAN SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCE INJURIES AND SAVE LIVES.
