Abstract
Workload activity is presented through case category comparisons and numbers of trials, hearings, and motions. Examples of special problems include effects of Proposition 13, the death penalty and complex cases, consolidation of county municipal courts, and conflict cases and the aid to indigent defendants plan. Dispositional 'success' rates in trials, settlements, and appeals are listed. Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) demonstration positions, improved attorney and investigator evaluation forms, and State and national activities, as well as a special case against CBS' 60 minutes are described. Appendixes contain staffing charts, lists, rosters, case costs, a caseload 5-year overview, and other tabular material.
