AN INNOVATIVE ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS, DELINQUENCY PREVENTION PROGRAM, OPERATING IN A METROPOLITAN SECONDARY SCHOOL SYSTEM, IS STUDIED.
Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIP OF SCHOOLS AND DELINQUENT BEHAVIOR IS DISCUSSED. THE THEORETICAL FORMULATIONS RELEVANT TO SCHOOL BASED DELINQUENCY PREVENTION ARE PRESENTED. PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND ADMINISTRATIVE PRACTICES ARE DESCRIBED. PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT IS DISCUSSED AS ARE ADMINISTRATIVE PRACTICES. THE OVERALL EVALUATIVE-RESEARCH DESIGN AND FINDINGS ARE INCLUDED ALONG WITH A CHAPTER ON REPLICATION IN OTHER PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEMS. AN APPENDIX OF THE RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS IS INCLUDED.
