SLOVENIA'S POLICE LABORATORIES ARE DOING ALL IN THEIR POWER TO KEEP UP-TO-DATE IN EVERY RESPECT WHILE INGESTING AT THE SAME TIME NEW SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERIES.
Abstract
DEMANDING CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL, PSYCHIC, GRAPHOSCOPIC, AND OTHER KINDS OF RESEARCH ARE PERFORMED SUCCESSFULLY. LASER, GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY, DEVICES, MASS SPECTROMETRY, NEUTRON ACTIVATION ANALYSIS, ETC., WILL BE INTRODUCED IN THE FUTURE AND ARE EXPECTED TO RESULT IN A CONSIDERABLE IMPROVEMENT. POLICE CRIME EXPERTS WORK AS COURT EXPERTS; HOWEVER, THE FORENSIC EXPERT WHO WORKS ON THE CASE IN THE PRELIMINARY PHASE CANNOT ALSO GIVE EVIDENCE IN COURT. THIS SEPARATION OF THE INVESTIGATIVE AND EXPERT FUNCTIONS IS NECESSITATED BY THE NEED TO AVOID POSSIBLE INFLUENCES ON THE EXPERT TESTIMONY AND DOUBTS REGARDING THE EXPERT'S INDEPENDENCE.
