THIS VOLUME, THIRD IN A SERIES, PROVIDES INFORMATION ON 27 AUTOMATED RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS PRESENTLY OPERATED BY 13 CORRECTIONS AGENCIES IN THE U.S.
Abstract
EACH OF THE 27 SYSTEMS IS ADAPTABLE FOR USE BY A CORRECTIONS AGENCY WISHING TO ADOPT AN AUTOMATED RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FROM ANOTHER STATE OR DESIRING TO ENHANCE THEIR EXISTING SYSTEM. THE GUIDE IS INTENDED TO ASSIST CORRECTIONS AGENCIES IN IDENTIFYING WELL-DOCUMENTED AND OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS. EACH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IS LISTED ACCORDING TO THE SPECIFIED SCRMS (STATE CORRECTIONS RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM) INFORMATION AREA, INCLUDING SYSTEMS FOR PERSONAL MANAGEMENT, BUDGET CONTROL, INVENTORY CONTROL, PRISON INDUSTRY, FOOD SERVICES, AND MAINTENANCE. EACH SELECTED SYSTEMS REFLECTS THE MODEL DESIGN REQUIREMENTS OF THE RESPECTIVE SCRMS INFORMATION AREA AND CONTAINS SUBSYSTEMS, APPLICATION AREAS, REPORT FEATURES, AND RELATED FUNCTIONS. ALSO, THE LEVEL OF DOCUMENTATION FOR EACH SYSTEM IS INDICATED WITH REFERENCE TO OPERATIONS MANUALS, PROGRAM SPECIFICATIONS, INFORMATION INPUT/OUTPUT REQUIREMENTS, AND RECORD LAYOUTS.
