Abstract
The report describes the RCMP's organization, jurisdiction, and administration. Its criminal operations branch targets commercial crime, bankruptcy fraud, national crime intelligence, gaming operations, criminal information analysis, and drug enforcement. The parole board examined parole guidelines, mandatory supervision, conditional release prospects, and clemency powers during the year. The report outlines future areas of parole board concern, such as corrections legislation and cost effectiveness. Correctional Service branches are policy, planning, and administration; personnel; finance; Inspector General; security; medical and health care; inmate employment and offender programs; technical services; and communications. Reports from each Correctional Service region are included. Tables illustrate parole board decisions, department budgets, and crime statistics. -- in English and French
