This volume presents an application for a training project designed to disseminate information on effective approaches that juvenile and family court judges can take to rehabilitate serious and violent juvenile offenders within the philosophic guidelines of the juvenile court in order to protect society and reduce serious and violent juvenile crime.
Abstract
The proposed project is sponsored by the national Council of Juvenile and Family Court judges. The proposed effort will focus on the role of judges and other juvenile justice practitioners in dealing with serious and violent juvenile offenders, youth gangs, and drug abuse and in providing detention facilities and setting pretrial detention criteria. Information will be disseminated through two major conferences.
