Annotation
Case studies profile the background, family environment, offenses, and treatment of typical youth targeted by the serious habitual offender/drug involved program, an interagency, law enforcement approach to the identification and management of this population.
Abstract
Profiles include assaultive, chronic, sexual assault, habitual property crime, chronic female, homicide, and mentally disturbed juvenile offenders. They illustrate the influence of parental and sibling criminality and family dysfunction in the development of delinquency and highlight the failure of traditional juvenile justice approaches to the chronic, serious, and violent juvenile offender.
